Main Responsibilities:Supervision and overall responsibility of the catering function, including maintaining and monitoring the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication from catering managers and catering coordinators. These procedures include, but are not limited to: menu and event proposals, contracts, banquet event orders, catering resumes, and daily events reports.Arrange, attend, and/or take part in meetings with hotel employees and customers. These Supervise the execution of banquet events. Review all function spaces with the banquet manager and, when necessary, the head house attendant. Ensure the satisfaction of the client at the outset of all events.Find solutions to the inevitable challenges and glitches that arise while groups are on property and keep Director of Catering and Conference Services and Planning Committee promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.Keep up to date understanding of hotel amenities, capacities, meeting room measurements, and the fundamental requirements of each operating department.Actively prospect and solicit, develop, and maintain local corporate catering accounts through telephone, personal sales calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment.Respond promptly and impulsively, balancing the needs of the client with the hotel’s objectives regarding finances, safety, and staffing.Finalize the requirements of personally booked catering events while maximizing revenue potential through upselling and ensuring effective communication, both written (resumes, BEOs, and daily reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure the accuracy of banquet checks and provide a bill review upon completion of the program or event.Conduct performance evaluations and mentor for team members of the Catering & Conference Services Department. In addition, recommend the hiring, terminating, or disciplining of any Catering employee.Qualifications and Experience:Senior leadership experience in Luxury Catering is necessary.Demonstrated ability to close deals and prospect for new business.Demands proficient budgetary and revenue management abilities.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, diverse workplace and make snap choices.Need to be able to assemble, nurture, and lead a cohesive team.Excellent organizing, managing, and prioritization skills.Have strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.It is highly desirable to have knowledge of revenue and client management systems.
