Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading Indonesian Oil & Gas projects. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a professional with at least 15-20 years’ experience in Oil & gas products for the job of Contract Manager. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.Key job responsibilities include: Champion HSE policies, integrating safety considerations into contract processes and encouraging team engagement in HSE initiatives.Ensure consistent, sustainable and effective management of the Contracts group on the project and consistent with defined business and project objectives.Provide leadership to the Contracts team and ensure that every person working in the team has clearly defined goals and expectations.Co-operation and liaise with the legal team and Legal Advisors regarding pre and post-tender contractual and commercial advice.Manage the entire contract lifecycle: drafting, evaluation, negotiation, execution, and administration.Providing commercial guidance and advice on contractual obligations and risks at the tender stage and through the contract life cycle.Monitor and complete contract close-out, extension or renewal as appropriateLead the management of the Change process, providing advice on both quantum and meruit.Providing advice on contractual claims and implementing alternate dispute measures where applicable to avoid/mitigate disputes;Staying abreast of changes in law and commercial practice.Undertaking Contract Reviews to identify Project Risks.Providing commercial and contractual solutions to minimise risk and maximise opportunities.Analysing the circumstances of contractual matters and articulating the options and potential outcomes.Influence and motivate internal and external stakeholders to take the best commercial solution.Taking the lead on issues which could lead to high risk or arbitration/disputesJob Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. A master’s or advanced law degree is preferred.Professional certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM) or a related field is highly desirable.Extensive experience in contract management within large-scale projects, preferably in the oil and gas industry.Strong understanding of commercial and legal contract terms and conditions and the ability to draft and develop robust contract documentation.Expertise in contract negotiations and experience in managing complex contracts and claims.Familiarity with various forms of contracts such as FIDIC or bespoke contracts.Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices.Experience in dispute resolution and managing arbitration processes.Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage and develop a team.Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Cross-cultural competence and international experience are advantageous, especially in multinational project environments.In-depth knowledge of HSE standards and compliance requirements in contract management.
